Trying to get back to an exercise routine

Okay, this winter has got to stop! My plan was to be enjoying the longer days by getting in some rides outside by this time. Spin classes were on hiatus for 2 weeks due to Spring Break, Easter holiday, indoor track meets etc. They resume this week but I will be working in the big city of Sioux Falls for the next few weeks starting on Tuesday.

I was hoping to sign up for the Outdoor Boot Camp that starts later in April but that filled right away and there is a long waiting list.

This means I must motivate myself to get in some good training, after all, the Bunyan’s to Bob’s Ride is right around the corner!

I hear you... Thank goodness for the trainer, though I can only hack like 12 miles at a time and then it's usually time to go make supper. I have been running also though, I do that outside. While my overall fitness is going up, not sure how it will translate to a ride of any substantial distance.

Every little bit counts, right? I do hope that it warms up a little bit... When are you going to start commuting by bike again? I'm a wuss in cold weather on the bike.

I agree, every bit of activity counts! Sounds like you are hitting the training hard! I usually only do around 8 miles on the trainer at a time.

I usually do my first commute by bike on or around Ride Your Bike to Work Week the 2nd week of May.

Looks like the forecast is looking good for this weekend. Maybe we'll have a LaneHog ride??

I'm sure Cycling Cathy has just as many miles or MORE than me this year so far, so she will probably drop me like a rock!

I saw the email on the LaneHog listserv and I'm looking forward to Saturday! I better get my bike off the trainer and switch out my trainer tire....finally! I wonder if I'll remember how to balance my bike when I take it off the trainer?

No need to worry CDV.....I know I don't have as many trainer miles as you and my power watts are pathetic. Melissa and I expect you guys will do all the pulling (as usual!).
